12 Jun Vera Celebrates Her 102nd Birthday with a Dream Trip to See the Giraffes
At The Mill House Care Home, we believe that age should never be a barrier to making special memories.
That philosophy was brought to life recently when resident Vera celebrated her 102nd birthday with a very special day out that fulfilled one of her long-held wishes.
When staff asked Vera how she would like to celebrate her birthday, she shared her dream of visiting a safari park and seeing the giraffes. Determined to make her birthday one to remember, the team set about making it happen.
Making a Birthday Wish Come True
Not only was Vera treated to a visit to the safari park, but staff also arranged an extra-special surprise – the opportunity to feed the giraffes herself. Needless to say, it was the highlight of the day.
Vera was delighted by the experience and said she loved every moment of her birthday adventure.
Charlotte, Activities Lead at The Mill House Care Home, said:
“When Vera told us she would love to visit the safari park and see the giraffes for her birthday, we knew we had to try and make it happen. Reaching 102 is an incredible milestone, and we wanted to give her a day that felt truly special. Seeing her face when she met the giraffes was wonderful.”
