Families looking for specialist dementia care in Worcestershire can now access new purpose-designed accommodation at The Mill House Care Home in Kington, as the home begins welcoming residents into its newly completed Garden Rooms following registration from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The new Garden Rooms have been created to provide additional specialist dementia care accommodation for families across Worcestershire, helping meet the growing demand for high-quality, person-centred care.

Each Garden Room has been thoughtfully designed using dementia-friendly design principles, creating a calm and comfortable environment that supports residents’ wellbeing and independence.
The rooms include private patio access, allowing residents to safely enjoy fresh air, natural light and views of the surrounding gardens. Access to outdoor space can play an important role in supporting wellbeing, helping residents maintain a sense of routine, connection and comfort.
Nationally Recognised Dementia Care
The Mill House is recognised nationally for the quality of its specialist dementia care, having achieved the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) Three Star Platinum Award — a distinction currently held by only four care homes across the UK.
This accreditation reflects the home’s commitment to delivering person-centred dementia care, focusing on dignity, emotional wellbeing and meaningful connection for residents.
A Community Milestone
The Garden Rooms were officially unveiled at a community launch event in December, when the Mayor of Worcester joined residents, families and staff to celebrate their completion.
With CQC registration now confirmed, the home can begin welcoming residents into the new accommodation.

The new Garden Rooms allow us to support more families while maintaining the calm, personal environment that The Mill House is known for. The private patio access also gives residents the freedom to enjoy the outdoors safely, which can be incredibly beneficial for wellbeing.”
